Palm Beach Opera is excited to announce Chorus auditions for the upcoming 2018-2019 season, which will take place on Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7.

Palm Beach Opera's recently announced 2018-2019 season includes Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Don Giovanni, and Johann Strauss (ii)'s Die Fledermaus, each of which feature prominent Chorus appearances.

Auditions are open to male and female singers ages 18 and older. Singers with training and experience with operatic literature and performance, and availability for evening and weekend work from November through March, are encouraged to apply for this paid opportunity. Auditions are by appointment only, and applicants must complete and submit the Audition Request form by March 30. The Audition Request form can be found on the Palm Beach Opera website at pbopera.org/chorusauditions.

For the audition, all singers must prepare two classical songs or arias, with at least one in a foreign language, preferably Italian, French, or German. A pianist will be provided at the audition.

Led by Associate Conductor Greg Ritchey, the Palm Beach Opera Chorus is consistently recognized for its artistic excellence. South Florida Classical Review praised the ensemble's "razor-sharp intonation and glowing, well-blended tones" in Madama Butterfly, singled out their precision and "impressive heft" in the critically-acclaimed production of Rigoletto, and hailed their performance in The Pirates of Penzance as "exquisitely sung." Following their "consistently outstanding" work in this season's Candide, and their "superb" and "refined" appearance in Tosca, the Palm Beach Opera Chorus looks forward to building on their success in next season's exciting repertoire.
