New Docu-Musical by

David Leddick and Andrew Sargent

ESCORTS

David Leddick (www.DavidLeddick.net) has written a book about male escorts. Out of this book comes a new musical: "Escorts."  The show reveals the stories of sixteen male escorts in words, song, and dance and in the flesh.  With libretto and lyrics by David Leddick, music by Andrew Sargent, direction by David Kingery and produced by V. J. Colonna, this is very sexy musical theater.

The cast features world-renowned photographer David Vance who is supported by Felix Guitterrez, Stefan Pinto, Toby Morris and Brandon St. John.

Of his new book, "Escorts…Forty Profiles with Photographs with Men Who Sell Sex," Leddick says, "Exchanging sex for money is an ancient practice, but in the 21st Century the Internet has made it something new. Male escorts have fascinating stories, unusual connections to the rich, famous and powerful. These are stories nobody knows." And here are those stories in a brand new musical.

Escorts, male and female, are everywhere in the press. They are linked to Governor Eliot Spitzer, Governor James McGreevy of New Jersey, Reverend Ted Haggard, and Senator Larry Craig of Idaho. Heidi Fleiss is setting up a male brothel near Las Vegas. Perhaps you can't buy 'love,' but there are many new attempts in this century and that's what "Escorts" is all about.

Leddick has also written three musicals with Andrew Sargent as composer: "The Secrets of the Chorus," "Quentin and I" and "Presenting Gilda Lilly." He starred in the musical "It's A Fabulous Life,"  which played to sold-out crowds at the Broward Center of the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale and the Colony Theater in Miami Beach.  Recently he appeared in the world premiere of the "11 O'clock Number" at the Rising Action Theater in Fort Lauderdale. He will star in the new production of "Escorts."

David Leddick is known world-wide for his novels and homoerotic art books.  The author of the Lambda Award-winning books: "Naked Men" and "The Male Nude," David Leddick has published no less than 17 works. His latest book is the acclaimed "In the Spirit of Miami Beach" from Assouline Press.

David Kingery is directing the show.  This is his third collaboration with Mr. Leddick having directed "Quentin and I" and "Presenting Gilda Lilly."  He is currently Artistic Director for Arts at St. Johns on Miami Beach and has been performing and directing in musical theater professionally in  New York, Los Angeles and Miami for the past 14 years.  He also was the founding Artistic Director for the South Beach Gay Men's Chorus.

Composer Andrew Sargent has also written the music for "The Secrets of the Chorus," a backstage-backstabbing musical romp, and "It's a Fabulous Life." His scores are featured in the mini musical about Quentin Crisp titled "Quentin and I" and the starry-eyed Hollywood fable "Presenting Gilda Lilly."  Sargent studied music at the University of Montevallo, Alabama.
