CALLING ALL SINGERS AND DANCERS TO AUDITION FOR SWING AND HOLIDAY SHOW AT LAKE WORTH PLAYHOUSE

Auditions for two upcoming Lake Worth Playhouse productions will be held in the month of November. Auditions for ONCE UPON A HOLIDAY will take place on November 15 at 7:00 p.m.  SWING auditions take place on November 30 and December 1 at 7:00 p.m. All audition sessions will be conducted at the Lake Worth Playhouse, 713 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. These are open casting calls. All are invited to audition, and no appointment is necessary.

Once Upon a Holiday
Once Upon a Holiday is a family-friendly holiday extravaganza that features music and dance to celebrate holidays from around the world and throughout the ages. The cast includes a bevy of North Pole elves and a gallery of holiday singers who perform seasonal songs from different eras dating back to the 1940s. Casting: The Playhouse is casting singers, ages 17 and up, to fill our gallery of holiday singers. Strong voices and charismatic personalities are essential. Those auditioning are asked to prepare 17 bars of a Broadway show tune or holiday song, and should bring a CD without vocals for accompaniment. The show is directed by Lisa Pariseau. Performance dates are December 19 and 20, and rehearsals begin November 23. Auditions begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15.

SWING!
The third production in the Lake Worth Playhouse main stage season, Swing, is a red-hot song-and-dance musical that celebrates the uniquely American form of popular music and dance known as "swing." Casting: The Playhouse is casting four female vocalists and four male vocalists in non-dance roles. Singers should prepare one belt swing and one patter swing song and should bring sheet music or a CD without vocals to the audition. The Playhouse is also casting four female dancers and four male dancers in non-singing roles. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and shoes for dancing. A dance will be provided at the audition by the production choreographers. The show is directed by Marc Carmen. Performance dates are January 22 through February 7, 2010 (Thursdays through Sundays), and rehearsals begin on December 7. Auditions begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1.
