ACTORS' PLAYHOUSE AT THE MIRACLE THEATRE PRESENTS THE BROADWAY MUSICAL

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES

As a long running Paris boulevard comedy written by Jean Poiret, a highly original classic film, and a musical theater hit revived on Broadway a couple of seasons ago, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, makes its way to Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre March 7 – April 8, 2007.

Tony Award-winning, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, is a funny, endearing, and heartwarming love story. With the combination of Jerry Herman's award winning score and Harvey Fierstein's book, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES is a feel good, story about a gay couple, Georges and Albin, and the adventures that occur when Georges' son comes to visit with his fiance and her ultra-conservative parents. Moviegoers may be familiar with the story from the hit film The Bird Cage, which took place on South Beach and is an adaptation of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.

With millions of fans worldwide and popular songs including "I Am What I Am," "With You on My Arm," and "The Best of Times," CurtainUp said, "it's a safe bet that the final curtain will leave you with a smile on your face and a song on your lips."

Georges (Jerry Gulledge) is the manger of the nightclub, St. Tropez, where Albin (Gary Marachek), his partner is also the star, ZaZa. When Georges' son, Jean-Michel (Euriamis "E.L." Losada), announces his engagement to Anne Dindon (Cecilia Torres), daughter of ultraconservative politician Edourard (Peter Haig), the two families are forced to meet. It is in this encounter that the funny, lighthearted performance of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES ensues.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES is an enjoyable show with "Glitz, showmanship, good cheer ... unflagging tunefulness..." according to the New York Times.

Artistic Director, David Arisco says, "La Cage Aux Folles is an exciting production to present for the South Florida community who have come to appreciate our large-scale musicals."
