Karen Oberlin
Royal Room Debut

One of the most sought after and celebrated singers in the world of cabaret, multi-award-winner Karen Oberlin is coming to the Royal Room straight from her three-week run at the legendary Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel. Hand picked by The New York Times as one of the "Saviors of the Great American Songbook," Oberlin will be performing her centenary salute to the great Hollywood and Broadway songwriter Frank Loesser, lending her matchless interpretations to such classics as "Heart and Soul," "Baby, It's Cold Outside," "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" and "Spring Will Be A Little Late This Year" and more. Oberlin has been a headliner at many other major New York venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Feinstein's, Iridium Jazz Club, Merkin Hall and The Metropolitan Room. She has performed at major theatres around the country, has starred in more than 100 Off-Broadway performances of the smash-hit show Our Sinatra, and has appeared on All My Children among other television and film credits. Her recordings include the highly lauded "My Standards", and the award-winning "Secret Love: The Music of Doris Day," both released on the Miranda Music label, and she is currently working on a new CD titled "A Wish."

Reviews of Karen Oberlin:

Stephen Holden in The New York Times: Karen Oberlin has "impeccable classic pop style...musical intelligence...arresting and perfect moments (with) beautifully shaped, delicately voluptuous phrasing."

Rex Reed in the New York Observer: "Oberlin is as lovely to look at as she is to hear...(her singing) rings true and flawless and funny."

Cabaret Hotline Online: Karen Oberlin's "fresh approach to many of the fine standards, handled with aplomb, plus her sparkling attitude, joyful personality and fantastic vocals (made for) a totally entertaining event!"

July 30-31 & August 6-7

Jennifer Sheehan
Royal Room Debut

A winner of both the first Noel Coward Cabaret Award and the Mabel Mercer Foundation's prestigious Julie Wilson Award for Cabaret for "her dedication to the highest ideals and music and lyrics... and for the adroit communicative power she employs to share them," Jennifer Sheehan has wowed the crowds at cabaret conventions in Chicago, Dallas and The Hamptons, and has sung as the guest of Andrea Marcovicci in The Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel. Sheehan performs in musicals, national tours and concerts in New York and across the country. Her most recent projects include performing as one of six singers in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York (sometimes as Mrs. Claus.)

Reviews of Jennifer Sheehan:

Cabaret Scenes: "Look out! There's a new star rising on the cabaret scene... she possesses all of the qualities that will eventually help her shoot her star up, up and away."

Andrea Marcovicci: Jennifer Sheehan is "exceptionally poised, with the most winning smile that matches an exquisite voice! An enormously moving performer."

Steve Ross: "Jennifer Sheehan is an enchanting performer - she has a beautiful voice and uses it so expressively - with considerable understanding and communication of any song she performs. She's certainly easy on the eyes and moves like a dream. Who could ask for anything - well, you know the rest."

Polo Presents Motown Friday Nights with Memory Lane

Friday nights have become Motown nights at The Colony with the soul-stirring sounds of Memory Lane in Polo from 9 p.m. to closing. It is music from The Temptations, The Supremes, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye -- all the Motown favorites from the 60s to the 80s -- and it is bringing the house down every week. People are dancing, singing, rocking away -- right here in Palm Beach.

Polo Presents Rob Russell's Cast Parties on Saturdays

Offering a bouncy, upbeat mixture of good times and great music by long-time favorites Rich & Jill Switzer, Rob Russell, The Colony's own man-about-town, gets people movin' and groovin' every Saturday night. Even more exciting, the big name cabaret stars appearing in the Royal Room Supper Club will frequently stop by for a music-filled Cast Party.

Host to Presidents Bush and Clinton, the Windsor's and other royalty, The Colony has been the center of Palm Beach society for more than 60 years. An intimate, friendly boutique hotel with British Colonial flair, it is just steps away from shopping on world famous Worth Avenue, and about 100 yards from a beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach. This landmark hotel recently completed an extensive $15-million renovation and offers guests the choice of charming hotel rooms, luxurious suites, spectacular penthouses and spacious two bedroom villas - plus beautiful grounds and Frette linens.

The Colony's popular restaurants include:

Polo, which is now Palm Beach's number one steakhouse, offering dining al fresco in the hotel's newly remodeled Palm Court by the pool

Royal Room, which is widely considered to be one of the nation's premier cabarets

Café 155, which is a petit New York-style deli serving delicious breakfasts and lunches prepared in the hotel's award-winning kitchen.

In 2010, The Colony Hotel once again was awarded the prestigious "4-Diamond" rating from AAA. Last November, the hotel received the Palm Beach County Convention & Visitors Bureau's Providencia Award, South Florida's most prestigious annual honor recognizing excellence within the local hospitality and tourism industry. This was the first time in the 21-year history of the Providencia Award that it has gone to a smaller, boutique hotel. For more information, please visit www.thecolonypalmbeach.com.
