STAGE VERSION OF MITCH ALBOM'S BESTSELLER

TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE

FORT LAUDERDALE - - - Hal Linden, originally announced to star in Mitch Albom's TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, has withdrawn from the cast citing illness in his family.  Replacing him in the title role will be Harold Gould, a distinguished film and television actor, who recently appeared in "Freaky Friday" opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.   His many decades of work include the films "The Sting," Woody Allen's "Love and Death," and Mel Brooks' "Silent Movie." Gould has also been featured in numerous television classics including "Rhoda," in which he appeared as her father, and in "The Golden Girls" as Rose's mobster boyfriend.

Dominic Fumusa has also been announced to co-star as author/journalist Mitch Albom.  Most recently seen on Broadway in "Wait Until Dark" with Marisa Tomei and in the Roundabout Theatre production of "A Flea in Her Ear," Fumusa is an alumnus of Joe Mantello's Off-Broadway production of "Take Me Out," and will be coming direct from New York's 42nd Street Theatre Row, where he has been starring as Vince, a role written for him by playwright Stephen Belber.

A constant on the New York Times Bestseller List with more than five million copies sold, Tuesdays With Morrie is the inspirational, autobiographical story of career-obsessed journalist Mitch Albom and his former college professor Morrie Schwartz.  Sixteen years after graduation, when Mitch learns that Morrie is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), he reunites with his old professor for a final visit that turns into a weekly pilgrimage and an extraordinary 'last class' on the meaning of life. The book was turned into a play by Mitch Albom and Jeffrey Hatcher.
