The Garden Theatre presents the Beth Marshall Presents production of Crimes of the Heart from November 13-29, 2009, at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street).  A special Industry Night production is scheduled for Monday, November 16 at 8pm.

Three young Mississippi sisters are betrayed by their passions when they reunite after the youngest sister is arrested for shooting her husband.  Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning play sounds like an intense drama, but it finds plenty of room for irreverence, zany humor, and a big heart, making it a story about family that everyone can relate to.

This production includes returning crew members Aradhana Tiwari as Director, Jennifer Bonner as Costume Designer Amy Hadley, Technical Direction/Light Design, and John Valines, Sound Design.  Set Designer Tom Mangeri is creating his fourth set for the Garden Theatre.  Actors Jason Horne and Meggin Weaver will be seen in both this show and in December’s production of SLEIGH on the Garden Theatre stage.  Even Beth Marshall herself makes a stage appearance in this production.  Other cast and crew members include actors Britni Leslie and William Hagaman, Chasmin Hallyburton as Stage Manager, and  Douglas McGeoch as Assistant Stage Manager.

The Garden Theatre and Beth Marshall Presents will offer Post-Performance Talk-Backs on Sunday, November 15 and Sunday, November 22 immediately following the end of the show.  These events will serve as an opportunity to ask questions directly to the cast and crew of the performance.  A representative from Harbor House will give context to the topic of domestic violence in the play.

Located in the heart of historic downtown Winter Garden on Plant Street, the Garden Theatre is operated by the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit community organization which works to preserve local history and offers cultural theatric experiences unique to West Orange County and the citizens of Winter Garden.  The theatre restoration project, which began in 2003, showcases an atmospheric theatre in a Mediterranean Revival style venue.  The former single screen movie theater hosts live theatre, dance and music, cinema viewings, various community events and educational programs.
