GableStage at the Biltmore - in association with Jay Harris - proudly presents the Southeastern Premiere of NOVEMBER by David Mamet - opening October 18th and running through November 16th
This play, which premiered on Broadway last January, takes place in the Oval Office. It centers on fictional President Charles H.P. Smith several days before his bid for re-election. November involves civil marriages, gambling casinos, lesbians, American Indians, presidential libraries, questionable pardons and campaign contributions.The cast includes Dave Corey, Wayne LeGette, Kevin Reilley, Stacy Schwartz and David Kwiat (who starred in the GableStage production of Mamet's Romance in 2007) as the President.It will be directed by GableStage's Producing Artistic Director, Joseph Adler.Mamet, American author, essayist, playwright, screenwriter and film director, has received numerous awards - including a Pulitzer Prize for Glengarry Glen Ross (1984) and a Tony Award for the Broadway revival in 2005. His other plays include The Duck Variations, Sexual Perversity in Chicago - and American Buffalo and Speed The Plow, both of which are being revived this Season on Broadway. As a screenwriter, he received Oscar nominations for The Verdict (1982) and Wag the Dog (1997).
