Barbara S. Stein, Executive Producing Director of the Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, was honored among other leading industry professionals at the South Florida Theatre Festival's closing party in Fort Lauderdale on Monday.

The festival, which kicked off this month at the Actors' Playhouse with The Naked Stage's 24 Hour Theatre Project, presented 15 Silver Palm awards to producers, actors, directors, and stage crews for theatrical excellence during the 2008-2009 season. Stein, one of two South Florida producers recognized, was honored as Outstanding Producer for the Actors' Playhouse productions of 1776 and Les Misérables.

Stein credited outstanding corporate sponsors for their generous support in making the productions possible as well as talented creative and production teams led by Artistic Director David Arisco for making both productions such a success.
