American Stage Theatre Company's After Hours Series continues with five new productions running in June. All performances are "Pay-What-You-Can" at the door and $15 in advance.

FIRST SUNDAY IMPROV featuring THE DUMB SHOW
Starring Gavin Hawke and Ricky Wayne
Sunday, June 6 at 8 p.m.

A hilarious, irreverent take on the world, starting with a simple audience suggestion, after which Hawk and Wayne create a series of characters and scenes that showcase the best and worst of humanity, and will have you laughing and shaking your head in wonder at the same time.

3RD SUNDAY COMEDY NIGHT featuring ODD MAN OUT
Starring Jannette Serckpor, Vicki Vodar and Kim McVicar (and Larry Bukovey)
Sunday, June 20 at 8 p.m.

Hilariously cool improv comedy on a hot summer night! These three funny and inventive ladies (and one guy) make a unique statement about the world we live in that you'll have to see to believe! Co-produced by Hawk and Wayne, concept and direction by Ricky Wayne.

Prelude to Pride
THE LADY IN QUESTION by Charles Busch
June 21 at 7:30 p.m.
This year's Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project's Prelude to Pride celebration follows the success of last year's hit, OUR LEADING LADY, with the hilarious anti-Nazi war romp, THE LADY IN QUESTION, featuring local favorite, Matt McGee as Lady Gertrude Garnet.

This hilarious spoof of the trashy "damsel in distress vs. the Nazis" movies, packed them in off-Broadway. Gertrude Garnet, America's renowned pianist and world class hedonist, is on tour in Bavaria where she falls in love with Professor Maxwell and they plot to free his mother from the Fuehrer's minions. Proceeds from this event will benefit Metro Wellness and Community Centers.

THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES by Eve Ensler
June 25, 26 at 10 p.m.
June 27 at 7 p.m.

Obie Award-winner Eve Ensler's whirlwind tour of the forbidden zone, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it."

Sixth Annual Night of AlterNative Theatre
SORDID LIVES by Del Shores
June 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Del Shores comedy SORDID LIVES is a twisTEd White trash tale that puts the "fun" in "dysfunctional." The hilariously sordid details about a Southern family surface with a vengeance when relatives converge for the funeral of Grandma Peggy, who died tripping over her lover's wooden legs. Toss in a couple of feuding daughters, the cross-dressing "Brother Boy," a jumpy aunt that can't quit smoking, a strip-tease hostage situation and a funeral reception that will leave you in stitches. Warning: This quirky 90-minute romp contains sexual innuendo and mature subject matter. Proceeds from this event will benefit Metro Wellness and Community Centers.
