Admiral?s Cove Donates To Maltz Jupiter, Supports Emerging Artists Series 5/27
The Admiral's Cove Cares Charitable Foundation made a gift to the Maltz Jupiter Theatre to support the Theatre's Emerging Artist Series in Musical Theater Playwriting on Wednesday, May 27, 2009.
Admiral's Cove Cares Charitable Foundation (ACCCF) President, Gerry Holm, presented a check to Tricia Trimble, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's Managing Director, and Michelle Libby, Development Assistant, to support the Theatre's Emerging Artist Series in Musical Theater Playwriting.
This generous funding from the Admiral's Cove Cares will allow the Theatre to take one of the selections to the next level to be considered as a fully produced musical presented on a national level. Local audiences will have the benefit of getting a chance to see the development process first hand at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.
The Theatre's Emerging Artist Series, originally made possible through a grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Fund at the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, allowed the Theatre to create three new musicals in the form of staged readings. There is a great need for venues for emerging theatrical artists to hone their work and the cost for producing new works on Broadway has become prohibitive, so regional not-for-profit theatres such the Maltz Jupiter Theatre have taken on a recognized role in developing new work.
"We are so appreciative to be given this gift from within our own community," says Tricia Trimble, Managing Director of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. "The Admiral's Cove gift will enable the Theatre to take new musical theater to the next level while educating our local audiences on the developmental process."
