Actor Gordon McConnell Returns to Caldwell Theatre in Secret Order after Hospitalization

Prominent South Florida Actor Gordon McConnell returns to his leading role of Dr. Bob Brock in the Caldwell Theatre production of Secret Order on Wednesday July 21, 2010, after being hospitalized.

McConnell was "disoriented" after the matinee performance on July 10 and was immediately taken to the hospital where he underwent testing. He was released on July 12, without any definitive diagnosis.

"Clearly we are thrilled to have Gordon back," said Clive Cholerton, Artistic Director of Caldwell Theatre. "Just to know that his health is stabilized is obviously the key and then to get him back on stage is an added bonus."

In his absence, the director of the show, Tom Bloom stepped in for the performances of Sunday July 11 through Sunday July 18 and received tremendous audience response.

"It was remarkable how Tom dove in with both boots and kept the show at a very high level," continued Cholerton. "Equally remarkable was the rest of the cast's (Nick Duckart, Katie Cunningham, and Howard Elfman) ability to adapt to The Situation. We were incredibly blessed with this group of professionals and the manner in which they conducted themselves."
