The Garden Theatre Announces Next Volunteer Training Session, 11/14

By: Oct. 28, 2009

The Garden Theatre announced the next Volunteer Training Session at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street).  The session will be held on Saturday, November 14 from 11am-12noon and will provide necessary information on theatre history and operations, as well as on volunteer roles.

The Garden Theatre is seeking individuals who have an interest in volunteering for the 09-10 live performance season in the concession area, taking tickets, ushering, and a variety of other activities.  High school students needing community service hours can also fulfill their requirements with this volunteer opportunity.  Volunteers ages 15 and up are welcome.   Volunteers are invited to watch the performance for free on the night they volunteer.

Located in the heart of historic downtown Winter Garden on Plant Street, the Garden Theatre is operated by the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit community organization which works to preserve local history and offers cultural theatric experiences unique to West Orange County and the citizens of Winter Garden.  The theatre restoration project, which began in 2003, showcases an atmospheric theatre in a Mediterranean Revival style venue.  The former single screen movie theater hosts live theatre, dance and music, cinema viewings, various community events and educational programs.

For additional information or to register for the Volunteer Training Session, contact the Garden Theatre Box Office at 407-877-4736 or email at volunteer@gardentheatre.org.
