Youth Day features Jeghetto's Puppet Invasion, an interactive puppet flash mob with a giant Juneteenth puppet created for the festival alongside puppets made by youth from 11 community centers across Memphis. Tarish "Jeghetto" Pipkin, a nationally acclaimed puppeteer and educator, brings his Hip Hop-infused puppetry and audience participation to the event. Following a surprise procession through Douglass Park, youth gather for a live puppet performance celebrating imagination, freedom, community, and Black joy.
