MEMPHIS THE MUSICAL Returns to Memphis, 4/23-28
MEMPHIS THE MUSICAL will return to the Orpheum Theatre April 23 - 28, 2013. This Tony Award winning musical has been selling out theatres across America while spotlighting the City of Memphis as an exciting, vibrant travel destination.
The Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCVB) has all but become a staple on the MEMPHIS national tour. Bureau staff members have joined MEMPHIS THE MUSICAL for eleven stops since the tour began, hosting over 70 travel writers reaching a total circulation of more than 3 million potential visitors. Of course, this number doesn't count the 20 or so European journalists that will visit Memphis during the musical's final stop at its namesake location before the tour heads overseas.
Thanks to the MCVB and its unique way of using MEMPHIS THE MUSICAL to promote local tourism, the city has recently received numerous honors, praises, and positive reports, such as being named one of National Geographic Traveler's Best Trips of 2013.
"MEMPHIS has provided the MCVB with an incredible opportunity to show travel journalists and tourists throughout the nation what this city is all about," said Regena Bearden, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for the Bureau. "The Memphis buzz is strong, and the positive effects of our work are reflected in the numbers."
