Germantown Community Theatre Offers Sensory Friendly Performance of A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD Today

By:

Germantown Community Theatre is proud to partner with Full Spectrum Theatre Initiative to present a sensory friendly performance of A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD.

This one night only event is designed to reduce disturbances for children and adults who experience heightened sensory sensitivity. The goal is to help families experience the performing arts in a safe, judgement-free environment.

Attendees at today's (June 17) performance can expect the following:

  • The performance will run 90 minutes with one 10 minute intermission.
  • Seating is general admission and a limited number of seats will be available.
  • Lights will remain up inside the theatre auditorium for the duration of the performance.
  • Sound volume will be lowered and remain constant to prevent abrupt, jarring sounds.
  • Children will be free to talk and vocalize as they wish.
  • Children may leave their seats under parental or guardian supervision.
  • Families are encouraged to bring fidget and stress toys to use during the performance.

A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD follows two great friends -- the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad -- through four, fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in their differences that make them unique and special. The jazzy, upbeat score of bubbles with melody and wit, making it an inventive, exuberant, and enchanting musical for the whole family.

The All Children's Theatre (ACT) program at Germantown Community Theatre is sponsored by the City of Germantown, Tennessee Arts Commission, ArtsMemphis, Members of the GCT Trust and the Germantown Arts Alliance.
