The Public Theatre Receives Corporate Gift From L.L. Bean
L.L.Bean announces a generous gift of support for The Public Theatre, recent winner of DownEast Magazine's 2013 Readers' Choice award for Best Theatre in Maine.
"On behalf of our 16,000 yearly patrons, I would like to thank L.L. Bean for their generous support for the 2013-14 Season. Their gift will help us continue to supplement ticket prices so that we can provide high quality shows for only $20 for adults, $5 for children, and complementary tickets to the disadvantaged in our community," said Christopher Schario, Executive/Artistic Director of The Public Theatre. "That $5 youth ticket, is particularly important, as it has helped us increase youth participation by 700% in recent years. L.L.Bean is helping us to foster a lover of theatre and live performance in the next generation."
According to L.L.Bean's Director of Public Affairs, Marlene Hensley, "L.L.Bean is proud to support The Public Theatre, a leader in today's cultural renaissance in the Lewiston/Auburn area. We appreciate their goal to make Broadway quality theatre accessible to all. Their work enriches the lives of thousands in Maine, including many L.L.Bean employees and customers."
As an Education/Outreach Supporter for the theatre's 2013-14 season, L.L.Bean's employees will be eligible for a reduced ticket rate of $16, in addition to other sponsor benefits.
