The Capitol Steps to Play Merrill Auditorium, 4/1
By: Tyler Peterson
With the 2016 Presidential election looming, now is the perfect time to revel in the lighter side of politics, and Portland Ovations provides that opportunity by bringing the witty political humor of The Capitol Steps to Merrill Auditorium on April 1st at 8pm.
Just in time for primary season! The members of The Capitol Steps combine experience on the Hill with sheer comedic talent in an equal opportunity skewering of modern day politics. The Capitol Steps never suffers from a shortage of material, finding humor in the latest headlines, scandals, mis-steps and misspeaks. Where else might one catch Barack Obama singing a show tune... Nancy Pelosi rocking out...or New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in a pas de deux? As The New York Times states, "Those who complain that politicians and government are good for nothing are wrong. The Capitol Steps makes clear that more often than not, they're good for a laugh."Tickets for The Capitol Steps range from $34.20 to $40 for Ovations' Members and $38 to $44 for the general public. To purchase tickets visit www.portlandovations.org, contact PortTIX at 207.842.0800 or visit the box office at Merrill Auditorium.
