Steve Cowperthwaite is a teacher with the reputation of being a storyteller. He is happiest when he is creative rather then meditative. He built his own house, lots of small buildings, round woodpiles, fixed boats and published some history. He loves Senior College at UMA and am a regular. In Ted Bookey's poetry class, he learned to tell stories through poetry. Memories of his childhood on a hardscrabble farm here in Maine are a great source for him. He loves history and especially the history of what happened right here, but has enjoyed traveling in Russia in recent years.
