Good Theater the professional theater in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Centers has announced its 16th season opening in the fall of 2017. This will be the biggest season the company has produced yet.

SEX WITH STRANGERS by Laura Eason opens the season on September 27 for a four week run through October 22. This exciting new play was a hit off-Broadway and will be directed by Good Theater co-founder, Steve Underwood.

AN INSPECTOR CALLS the multi-award-winning play by J.B. Priestly will begin performances on November 1 running through November 26. This psychological thriller has won more awards than any other play in history and will be directed by Good Theater's Artistic Director, Brian P. Allen.

Will Rhys will bring his acclaimed one-man version of A CHRISTMAS Carol To the Good Theater stage for one week December 6-10. This ingenious take on the Dickens classic allows Rhys to portray all of the characters in A CHRISTMAS CAROL from Scrooge to Tiny Tim. This show is a delight and appropriate for all ages.

SHEAR MADNESS the longest running play in the United States makes a welcome return for nine weeks starting January 10, 2018 through March 11, 2018. Set in a hair salon this murder mystery comedy has up to the minute jokes and multiple endings so no two performances are ever the same!

Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron collaborated on LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE which will play four performances per week, Saturday matinees at 12:30, Sundays at 5:00, Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:00 during the run of SHEAR MADNESS. LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE features a cast of five women and the production will be directed by Steve Underwood. Performances begin January 20 and continue through March 6.

With SHEAR MADNESS and LOVE LOSS AND WHAT I WORE, Good Theater will be offering ten performances per week throughout the winter!

The final show of the Good Theater season is a TBA. This production will open on March 28 and continue through April 29, 2018. Whatever the show turns out to be, it will have a significant cast and is sure to be a big finale to the company's 16th season. Brian P. Allen directs the production.

Additionally the company will present its annual fundraising concerts, BROADWAY AT GOOD THEATER November 29-December 3, 2017. This year the concerts are a tribute to 1950s Broadway and the holiday music from the 1950s as well. Last year these events sold out two weeks before the show opened, so we patrons are urged to order tickets early for BROADWAY.

With all of these productions Good Theater will present 170 performances in its 16th season. This is the largest season and the most number of performances ever offered by the company. "Theater is vital to a community especially in hard times. We hope to offer patrons an opportunity to escape the news and social media to come together, experience a show and be transported a different world for a couple of hours," says Artistic Director Allen. "I want Good Theater to be a safe haven for everyone to enjoy a live performance."

Season ticket will go on sale in April during the run of the company's current season finale, The Trip to Bountiful by Horton Foote.

Currently the company is presenting the Maine premiere of The May Queen running through February 26 and Love Letters playing three performances per week through February 21.
