City Theater to Present BINGO, Opening 8/22
Biddeford's City Theater is excited to present BINGO: The Winning Musical, for a limited, two-week engagement. Opening August 22nd, BINGO is an interactive musical comedy, where through the course of the show, the audience actually plays three games of Bingo with the cast, for REAL prizes!
Our story begins on the biggest night of the year, for our trio of Bingo-crazed heroines, Vern (Lynne White, Kennebunk), Honey (Leslie Lampert, OOB), and Patsy (Kaitlin McGinley, Lyman). It is the anniversary of the birth of Bingo, but in order to attend they must brave (or ignore) the hurricane which is battering their town. Meanwhile, Minnie (Gretchen Wood, Shapleigh) and Sam (David Heath, Hollis) are faithfully preparing the celebration, and hoping everyone makes it safely, as a surprise visitor (Alyssa Rojecki, Gorham) braves the storm to confront the group over a fifteen-year-old feud with her mother (Jessica Chaples-Graffam, Biddeford).
The Grand Prize for each evening's Bingo games will be a prize basket of items donated by local merchants, craftspeople, and City Theater supporters, including a hand-crafted cheese board by Tim Baker, a 2014-2015 Flex Pass to City Theater, a hand-crafted Cribbage board, and items from Alex's Pizza, Elements: Books Coffee Beer, and Fern Leaf Bakery.
BINGO, named BEST MUSICAL 2007 by the SF Bay Area Critics Circle, features a book by Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid, who collaborated with David Holcenberg on the lyrics and music.
BINGO: The Winning Musical at City Theater, 205 Main Street, Biddeford. August 22nd to 31st, 2014. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. All tickets are $20 and are available at www.CityTheater.org or (207) 282-0849. Sponsored by Saco Valley Credit Union.
