Opening this week at MercLab, the Mercury Players Theatre presents You've Ruined a Perfectly Good Mystery! A Choose Your Own Adventure Theatrical Tale. The production was written by Christian Neuhaus and Rick Stemm and is directed by Sam White.

The Madison playwrights Neuhaus and Stemm have expanded their Smackdown inspiration to create an interactive comedy where the audience is in charge of choosing the direction of the story. You've Ruined a Perfectly Good Mystery! tells the story of a world famous investigator who clashes with a preposterous narrator. The play exploits traditional mystery and detective conventions, turning a serious genre into lighthearted comedy.

Performances are September 9 through 25 at MercLab (930 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Madison). Tickets are $15, and can be reserved by calling 608-661-9696.
