The Village Players will present Swiss Cheese, Sweethearts and Shenanigans (a festival of six new, short comedies) by playwrights A.K. Forbes and Philip Paradis, both of Fort Thomas. The festival of six new comedies will be directed by Steve Myers and performed February 15-23, 2012 at the Village Players Theater, 8 N. Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY 41075. Fourteen-year-old American trumpeter, Natalie Dungey, came to international attention through her performance of the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto at the National Trumpet Competition that grew popular on YouTube when she was only 10. Since then she has been a featured soloist with Christopher O'Riley on NPR's From The Top (show #202) and performed the world premiere of "Calling The Cavalry" by Hollywood film composer Mateo Messina, written specifically for her.
Actors Theatre of Louisville Announce Cast and Creative Team for GIRLFRIEND

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are pleased to announce the cast and creative team for Girlfriend. This irresistible rock musical begins previews January 29 and 30, opens January 31 and runs through February 17. Girlfriend, with book by Todd Almond and music and lyrics by Matthew Sweet, will be directed by Les Waters and run for three weeks in the Pamela Brown Auditorium at Actors Theatre of Louisville as part of the Brown-Forman Series.

Scotland's Pipe and Drums of the Black Watch 3rd Battalion is an elite military regiment whose history stretches back almost three centuries. The precise origins of the group is unknown, however in 1716 a small band of 'hautboys' existed. The band grew in strength during the early part of the 19th century, and by 1838 could boast some 32 performers. Throughout the 19th century the band expanded, until in 1888 there was an establishment of 44. The Pipe and Drums of the Black Watch 3rd Battalion now travels the world, and in recent years has visited Australia, Bermuda, South Korea, France, Switzerland, Italy and of course Scotland.

The Bard's Town Theatre hosts the hilarious Bottoms Up! production of Nick and Corey Tell Some Stories. The show is a collection of short plays written by Corey Music and Nick Potter. It follows two titular characters, Nick and Corey, as they go throughout a wide-variety of adventures together. These adventures include becoming zombies, time traveling, robbing a bank, having a nice dining experience in a restaurant, ending of the world, and many, many more. The show is fast-paced, and the laughs will be a-plenty.

Abby Shue, Associate Director of the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, has been awarded a fellowship from the International Society of Performing Artists (ISPA), and will attend the ISPA Congress at the Julliard School in New York City in January. Only 75 fellowships have been awarded since 2007, and it provides Abby with the opportunity to engage with leaders from some of the world's most significant presenting organizations, performing arts centers, artist management agencies, and other related professionals.
