The Kentucky Center to Present Graham Shelby in THE MAN ON TV

The Kentucky Center presents "Graham Shelby - The Man on TV" on Thursday, October 26, 2017 and Friday, October 27, 2017. Show begins at 8 p.m. each night at The Kentucky Center - MeX Theater (501 W. Main St., Louisville).

Local writer and performer Graham Shelby brings his one-man show and most powerful performance to date, The Man on TV.

The Man on TV tells the story of Shelby's relationship with his birth father, Jimmy Godwin, a former U.S. Army Green Beret and a man Graham laid eyes on for the first time ever when his father appeared on the CBS Evening News.

Shelby is a graduate of the Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts 1987 inaugural class, where he studied creative writing. Throughout the years he has returned to GSA as a recruiter, workshop instructor, guest performer and creative writing faculty member.

The Man on TV utilizes music, video, images and more to explore the intersection of American history and one family's history to help veterans and civilians connect through storytelling.
