Pandora Productions continues the 2016-2017 season with the 2014 Tony Award nominee for Best Play: MOTHERS AND SONS. Arguably the most prolific playwright on LGBTQ issues, Terrence McNally, writes a dense and complicated story of a grieving mother, stuck in the past at the moment her son died from complications of AIDS. With a reputation of telling stories of the LBGTQ community with dignity, who else but Pandora could bring such a thought provoking play to the stage?

Twenty some years after her son's death of AIDS, a mother unexpectedly visits the home of her son's ex-partner who she hasn't seen in many years, and who is now married to another man and has a young son. There, she is forced to come to terms with how much society has changed without her, and the full life her son might have been able to enjoy. A deeply compassionate and touching look at the transformative nature of forgiveness and the evolving definition of family. As powerful and provocative as it is warm and humorous, it explores a rapidly changing society.

Mothers and Sons is being directed by company Artistic Director Michael J. Drury and stars: Carol Tyree Williams as Katharine, Shayne Brakefield as Cal, David Galloway as Will and introduces Keegan Conner as Bud. The production will run November 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19 at 7:30 p and November 13 and 20 at 5:30 p with the only matinee set for November 19 at 2:00 p. The play will be performed at Pandora's home theatre in the Henry Clay building located at 604 South Third Street, 3rd Floor, Downtown Louisville.
