Derby Dinner Playhouse kicks off their 2017-2018 Children's Musical Theatre Series with the musical HOW I BECAME A PIRATE.

AARRRGH! Who wants to be a pirate? Young Jeremy Jacob is recruited by Captain Braid Beard for a swashbuckling pirate adventure. Join Jeremy as he goes on a wild journey on a pirate ship to bury treasure, all the while learning from and teaching the pirates, and winding up back in his own backyard!

This production is a musical adaptation based on the best-selling children's book written by Melinda Long with illustrations by David Shannon. The book, music, and lyrics for HOW I BECAME A PIRATE were written by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman.

HOW I BECAME A PIRATE is under the direction of Jim Hesselman. The cast will include Henry Stern, Bill Hanna, Michael Drury, Kevin Crain, Lem Jackson, AlFrEd Jones, Shaquille Towns, and Robert Thompson.

All public performances of HOW I BECAME A PIRATE feature a kid friendly menu and are one hour in length. This production is most suitable for ages 3 - 12.
