Actors Theatre Presents David Sedaris's THE SANTALAND DIARIES Image

Actors Theatre of Louisville announces The Santaland Diaries, by David Sedaris, adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello, and directed by Associate Artistic Director Meredith McDonough, onstage from November 15-December 23. Described last year as "the adventurous yuletide theater-goers should check out!" by Arts Louisville, Sedaris's holiday tale will play to new audiences with an increased number of performances, in the 159-seat Victor Jory Theatre. The Santaland Diaries is brought to you in part by BB&T.

As the Christmas countdown begins, a newly hired elf enters the coldest circle of retail hell: Macy's Santaland. In real life, Crumpet the Elf is an unemployed actor, but now he's hard at work greeting children, judging their parents, and giving us a hilarious behind-the-scenes tour of the North Pole. Packed with David Sedaris's signature wit, The Santaland Diaries is a delightfully irreverent holiday classic for those of us who prefer our eggnog spiked.

Actors Theatre is pleased to welcome Bear Brummel back to the stage as the hilarious Crumpet the Elf. Brummel is an alumnus of the 2017-18 Professional Training Company, in which he appeared in You Across from Me, Little Bunny Foo Foo, The Tens 2018 and New Voices 2018. Additional regional credits include The Royal Family (directed by Rachel Chavkin), A Christmas Carol (2014-2015) and Blue Stockings at the Guthrie Theater. Actors Theatre newcomer Mark Mozingo will be understudying the role of Crumpet.

The production team features scenic design by William Boles, lighting design by Paul Toben, costume design by Mike Floyd and sound design by Paul Doyle. Jessica Kay Potter will serve as the stage manager and Hannah Rae Montgomery will be the dramaturg.

The theatre will offer an open-captioned performance on November 24 and an audio-described performance on November 25. For more information on the facilities and all services offered, visit ActorsTheatre.org.

Tickets are now on sale to the public and are priced from $45.

Tickets can be purchased by calling The Actors Theatre Box Office at 502.584.1205 or online at ActorsTheatre.org. Special ticket rates for groups of 10 or more are available by calling 502.585.1210.

The Santaland Diaries is made possible in part by support from BB&T.
