Darryl Maximilian Robinson Revisits 'The Actor's Choice' Episode 2.37 at The Excaliber Shakespeare Company Los Angeles Archival Project Photos

1/7-3/4/23
NOTES ON A THEATRE MAN!: It is difficult to summarize the experiences of a lifelong thespian in brief, but DARRYL MAXIMILIAN ROBINSON is a veteran and award-winning American stage actor, play director, theatre producer and private acting instructor celebrating 48 years of involvement in The Performing Arts, including appearances as an actor in more than 250 theatrical and literary arts presentations around the country. Best known for touring engagement performances of his original one-man show of Shakespeare and time-travel comedy, "A BIT OF THE BARD," ( in which he is noted for his portrayal of His Lordship, Sir Richard Drury Kemp-Kean ) Mr. Robinson is originally from the Windy City, where he served as Founder, Artistic Director, Producer and Principal Actor of the critically-praised, multiracial, non-Equity professional chamber theatre, THE EXCALIBER SHAKESPEARE COMPANY OF CHICAGO. Mr. Robinson has presented over 70 intimate dramatic productions in his native Chicago, St. Louis, Missouri ( under the banner name of EXCALIBER PRODUCTIONS ) and Louisville, Kentucky ( at The Rudyard Kipling Pub ). Mr. Robinson has played leading and featured roles with THE NATIONAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY TOUR OF NEW YORK, THE INDIANAPOLIS SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, THE BRISTOL RENAISSANCE FAIRE OF WISCONSIN, THE THEATRE PROJECT COMPANY OF ST. LOUIS, THE HISTORIC GOLDENROD SHOWBOAT DOCKED AT LACLEDE'S LANDING OF ST. LOUIS ( where in 1987 he starred for 10 weeks as the villainous Professor Moriarty in Producer-Director John Auble's vaudeville musical adaptation of "SHERLOCK HOLMES" ) and THE ENCHANTED HILLS PLAYHOUSE OF SYRACUSE, INDIANA ( where in 1981 Mr. Robinson was named winner of THE FORT WAYNE NEWS-SENTINEL REVIEWER'S RECOGNITION AWARD as Outstanding Thespian of the Season for his performances in professional summer stock, most particularly, as Fagin in Lionel Bart's "OLIVER!" ) to note a few. Now, having appeared onstage for more than a decade and a half as a Los Angeles-based stage performer, Darryl Maximilian Robinson is currently best known for his critically-praised performances in locally-produced musical theatre and classic play revivals and his numerous videos of classic speeches and poems with his video and theatre arts group THE EXCALIBER SHAKESPEARE COMPANY LOS ANGELES ARCHIVAL PROJECT. He is thrilled and delighted to have appeared on Ron Brewington's internet performing arts television show "The Actor's Choice" on four occasions.
