Flayed is a compelling one-man show written and performed by Josiah Blount, following Joshua, a queer man struggling with his identity while delivering his first sermon in a conservative Virginia church. As his public facade begins to crack, his internal turmoil unfolds against a backdrop of vivid fantasy characters, exploring themes of acceptance, spirituality, and self-identity. Directed by David Bridel, the production features Lake Bell as the Voice of God, adding depth to its exploration of mental breakdown and enlightenment. Award-winning since its debut at the 2023 Hollywood Fringe Festival, Flayed captures the complexity of personal truth amidst societal expectations.
