Workshops Of Matt Sax & Eric Rosen's VENICE Begin 4/15

“Venice” by Matt Sax and Eric Rosen will be presented at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre in three staged workshops for the public beginning this Wednesday, April 15 at 8 p.m. and continuing on Thursday, April 16 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 18 at 8 p.m.
Directed by Rosen, “Venice” is a Hip-Hop musical about betrayal and politics set in a post-war, not too-distant future, and is loosely based on Shakespeare's “Othello.” Sax and Rosen are the team who brought the West Coast premiere of “Clay” to the Douglas Theatre in 2007. “Venice” was commissioned by Center Theatre Group.“Venice” features (in alphabetical order) Malcolm Barrett, Bryan Terrell Clark, J.D. Goldblatt, Nia Renee Hill, Kelly Karbacz, Melina Lizette, Victoria Platt, Brett Ryback, Cedric Sanders, Matt Sax and Talia Thiesfield.
