Upright Cabaret Presents HOLIDAY AT THE ACE 12/19
L.A.'s famed Upright Cabaret returns to the desert to produce a special ONE NIGHT ONLY holiday concert event entitled "Holiday at the Ace." This not-to-be-missed evening of cuisine, style and song will also set in motion the troupe's 3rd season kick-off of star-studded concert events poolside at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club beginning in January 2009.
Producers/Hosts Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel return to the Ace Hotel and Swim Club continuing their mission to create one-of-a-kind dining and entertainment experiences here in the desert. From relaxing by the pool to lounging at the bar, or dining at the "King's Highway" restaurant, guests can enjoy this poolside show in a variety of ways!
Under the direction of Upright's new Artistic Director Billy Porter (Broadway: Grease, Dreamgirls, Little Shop of Horrors) this "new generation cabaret" will feature an eclectic mix of artists from stage, record and screen!
Scheduled to perform: Film and TV star KATY MIXON (Four Christmases, Showtime's Eastbound and Down), Broadway Diva JENNIFER LEIGH WARREN (Big River, Marie Christine, Little Shop of Horrors), Jazz Chanteuse BRENNA WHITAKER and Upright Cabaret original ELIZABETH BRACKENBURY (L.A. Opera) with Upright Cabaret Music Director Christopher Lloyd Bratten.
In the Golden Age of entertainment, Palm Springs supper clubs like the Chi Chi hosted all of the great stars of the day and helped define an era of style and sophistication that made Palm Springs famous. Upright Cabaret will reclaim that era at the desert's most anticipated new leisure property.
