Theatre of NOTE Extends FIGURE 8 Through 4/1
By: Kelsey Denette
Due to popular demand and critical acclaim, Theatre of NOTE has announced that FIGURE 8 has extended its run thru April 1, 2012 (Fri and Sat at 8 pm and Sun at 7 pm), and added two Thursday performances on March 15 and 22nd, at 8 pm. FIGURE 8 -- Seven Deadly Sins Playswritten by Phinneas Kiyomura and directed by Jerry Kernion and Phinneas Kiyomura. FIGURE 8 was workshopped and developed in NOTEworthy, Theatre of NOTE's ongoing staged reading and play development series.
FIGURE 8 – Seven Deadly Sins Plays is a world premiere production that writer, and L.A. native, Phinneas Kiyomura constructed using the seven deadly sins as a springboard, weaving together eight different stories of ordinary sinners fighting, flailing and fornicating their way through what passes for normal life in modern day Southern California. Traveling up the 5 freeway and along a fractured timeline, Figure 8 turns the very notion of sin 'round upon itself.
MESS, a weird, mostly happy exploration on being a mess. Written and performed by Kirsten Vangsness (Garcia on "Criminal Minds"), will be performed on March 23, and 24th at 10 pm and Sunday, March 25th at 9 pm.
Kirsten Vangsness has been in plays at NOTE (to name a few: PITY OF THINGS, SPIDER BITES, KILL ME DEADLY (soon to be a feature film details at killmedeadly.com) as well as around town like the Geffen Playhouse (FAT PIG, for which she won a Garland Award for Best Actress). She is an exec producer of PRETTY (prettytheseries.com) and her play POTENTIAL SPACE will have its world premier as part of NOTE's 2012 season.
