The Taper's THE CHRISTIANS to Hold Choir Auditions Next Month

By:

Center Theatre Group is seeking a diverse group of singers from across the greater Los Angeles community to perform as members of the church choir in the West Coast premiere of THE CHRISTIANS, written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters, presented by CTG and Playwrights Horizons at the Mark Taper Forum, December 2, 2015, through January 10, 2016.

Auditions will take place Friday, November 6 from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 7 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Music Center Annex, 601 W. Temple St. in Downtown Los Angeles (90012). Singers must be at least 18 years old, be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must live within 50 miles of the Mark Taper Forum.

To schedule an audition, send an email to ctgsubmit@centertheatregroup.org.

In the THE CHRISTIANS, the pastor of a large and wildly successful church has a startling message for his congregation. After 20 years of growing the membership of his church into the thousands, Pastor Paul does some soul searching and reaches a conclusion that shakes the church's very foundation with a message that challenges one of the basic tenets of his ministry. THE CHRISTIANS, staged as a church service and complete with a choir, is a compelling drama that conveys the deep emotions and consequences of one man's personal revelation.
