THE MASTER'S PIECE World Premiere Set for Hollywood Fringe Festival
Narmar Hanna writes, directs, and stars in this 18th-century love farce set in Florence.
THE MASTER'S PIECE, a new play written and directed by Narmar Hanna, will make its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival this June. Described as a modern-day 18th-century love farce, the production follows a queen who begins to suspect a royal portrait painter may be connected to a series of mysterious deaths.
Set in 1703 Florence, the play centers on Queen Lavinia, the fourth wife of King Augustus, who discovers a troubling pattern surrounding portraits commissioned by the king. When celebrated painter Claude Andre-Girard arrives to paint her likeness, Lavinia becomes convinced the commission could place her in danger. As the king’s butler Thomas pushes for the portrait to proceed, the queen uncovers a deeper conspiracy within the royal household.
The cast will feature Stephen Allerick, Amir Levi, Joe Clark, Sarah Haruko, and Narmar Hanna.
Preview performances will begin June 5 at 8:00 p.m. Additional performances are scheduled for June 14 at 4:00 p.m., June 20 at 2:00 p.m., June 27 at 5:00 p.m., and June 28 at 6:00 p.m.
