The West Coast Premiere of Brett Neveu's dark dramedy 4 MURDERS offers an examination of urban isolation and the convenient yet tragic cure for such loneliness. It is a surreal discussion of images, impressions and ideas that poke through the clutter of the day-to-day. The normalcy of eating dinner, drinking tea, waiting for a bus or falling to sleep is interrupted by thoughts of mortality, as a serial killer meets and murders four characters seemingly at random.
If the darkness itself were physically able to converse, those conversations would be much like what is heard in 4 MURDERS; for once we begin to speak to the darkness, our biggest fear is that the darkness may just speak back.
