Jordann Baker, Tongue&Chic Productions, and Graham Skipper, present the WORLD PREMIERE of SHAPESHIFTER: An Aerial Rock Circus with live music by LA rock band, The Shakers. This uniquely original and kinetic addition to the Los Angeles Theatre Scene will run at Way 2 Much Entertainment's stunning 6,000 square foot venue in Silverlake - May 23, 24, 30, and 31.
SHAPESHIFTER is a hybrid theatrical performance that takes the audience on a thrill ride of Acrobatic Feats and Live Music. This turbulent production completely surrounds the audience, with aerial daredevils dazzling directly overhead on silks, hammocks, straps and lyra, while one of LA's hardest rocking bands tears through their songs mere inches from the crowd.
Show Description:
The show follows several SOULS as they journey "From Darkness Into The Light" led by the high powered vocals of a SHAMAN, Shakers front-woman JODIE SCHELL. Together they must face the sinister power of KALI, an enigmatic being who serves as the catalyst for their adventure. The Souls must rise above their limitations in order to join the LIGHT BEARER, who illuminates the way to transcendence. This fully immersive theatrical experience draws the audience into the into the action and along for the journey.

The Band:
Just when you thought every musical hybrid had been realized, LA's THE SHAKERS have emerged as the missing link between soul and grit-rock. Previously described as "The Black Keys meets Heart" or even "AC/DC meets The Supremes," The Shakers are able to peak potential listeners' curiosity without even requiring the proverbial "listen." All comparisons aside, the 4-piece outfit has created something truly original and charismatic - a brand of modern music that the ill-remaining music industry has been so desperately aching for. The band's new album Rescue Team - tracked entirely to tape and self-produced with the help of Johnny Schreffler Jr's engineering savvy - rests comfortably between the nook of sexy and raw. Songs like "The Hold" and "I Spy" will make you sway and thrust while tracks like "I'll Find You" and "Villain" will make you twist and shout.
