Art Shulman's play, first produced in 2002, is being revived for the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
One evening a woman confesses to her husband that she's been unfaithful. The date is September 10, 2001.
The next morning, their private crisis is eclipsed by a national tragedy -- best known as 9/11. As the couple watches coverage on television, and works through their relationship, we meet various ordinary people affected by the event: a sportswriter, a firefighter, a woman rediscovering her faith, a graffiti artist, a street vendor selling American flags, an evangelist, and others.
September 10 is a celebration of American resilience., honoring the enduring spirit of those who lived through that unforgettable time.
The cast includes Michael Berckart, Ezra Black, Jane Bonem, Andrew Edmondson, Jillian McWhirter, Tammy Mora, Skel Osmani, Morry Schorr, Sandra Tucker, Marcia Woodridge and Harout Yesayan.
Stan Mazin directs. His previous directing credits include Act Your Age!, Behind the Curtain, The Orphan's Revenge, Champ & His Four Women, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, Is This Any Wat to Start a Marriage?, Barefoot in the Park, and many more. Also a choreographer and dancer, he acted and danced in 109 episodes of The Caol Burnett Show.
Art Shulman is the playwright. An alumnus of Brooklyn College, he went on to earn a Ph.D. in psychology and was a professor at Cal State Northridge for 20 years. He is the author of 28 produced full-length plays, among them Act Your Age!, Bias, Behind the Curtain, The Rabbi and the Shiksa, Bagels, Boxcar and Eugenia, Doubting Thomas, I've Got Troubles, and more.
In September 10, audiences are given an opportunity to reflect on how tragedy can reshape lives while revealing the strength of the human spirit.
