Rogue Machine Extends A PERMANENT IMAGE Through August 17

By:

OBIE Award winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter's A PERMANENT IMAGE will now continues at Rogue Machine through August 17th. Kicking off their 8th season, and helmed by the company's founding Artistic Director and LA Weekly "Career Achievement Award" recipient John Perrin Flynn, the award-winning cast includes Anne Gee Byrd, Tracie Lockwood, Ned Mochel, and Mark L. Taylor. Rogue Machine received the American Theatre Wing's 2014 National Theatre Company Grant, given only to 12 theatre companies in the country.

As members of an estranged family from a small town in Idaho gather together for the first time in years, Mom delivers a surprising twist. The traditionally joyous and colorful holidays are approaching, and siblings Bo and Ally are stunned to see how their childhood home has been "decorated" for the occasion. We soon see the method behind this madness as A Permanent Image paints a stunning picture of the interrelations in this broken family.

ENSEMBLE: Anne Gee Byrd, Tracie Lockwood, Ned Mochel, and Mark L. Taylor.

PRODUCTION TEAM: David A. Mauer (Producer/Set Design), Dan Weingarten (Lighting Design), Colin Wambsgans (Sound Design), Elizabeth A. Cox (Costume Design), Nicholas E. Santiago (Projection Design), David Combs (Prop design/Associate Producer), Ilana Rozin (Assistant Director), and Ramón Valdez (Stage Manager).

He was a contributing writer to Headlong Theater's Decade, which was produced by London's National Theatre in 2011 and he has active commissions from MTC/Sloan, Seattle Rep, South Coast Rep, and Boise Contemporary Theater. Internationally, his work has been presented in Mexico City, Monterrey, and in the West Bank with Ashtar Theatre of Ramallah and Ayyam al-Masrah of Hebron. Additional awards include the 2011 Sky Cooper Prize, 2008-2009 PONY Fellowship from the Lark, and two Lincoln Center Lecompte du Nouy Awards.
