Ravi Shankar, who was scheduled to perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Tuesday, April 19 as part of the LA Phil's World Music series, has postponed the performance. The concert is rescheduled for Thursday, September 29.
Ravi Shankar's personal statement on the postponement:"It is with deep regret that I have asked the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association to postpone my concert scheduled for April 19. As you know, this upcoming concert was already re-scheduled from October 20 for reasons of my health. Now I have asked that it be re-scheduled again. This time, the reason is due to visa complications with a trusted member of my ensemble. To give you the best possible performance, I feel the only option is to postpone our concert. I am honored to be performing at Walt Disney Concert Hall, one of the great concert halls of the world. I hope you will join me on September 29, 2011."Sincerely yours,Ravi ShankarTickets for the April 19 concert (or for the original date, October 20) will be valid for entry to the concert on September 29.For further details or questions, call 323.850.2000 from 10am - 6pm daily, or visit LAPhil.com.
