Photo Flash: Two's Company, The Songs of Schwartz & Menken

Los Angeles City College Theatre Alumni & Associates presented "Two's Company - An All-Star Event Celebrating The Songs of Alan Menken & Stephen Schwartz" at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA on Monday evening, November 5. The show's Executive Producer and Director, Bruce Kimmel, said: "Approximately $15,000 was raised and 850 people attended our fundraiser, benefiting the Los Angeles City College Theatre Alumni & Associates and the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy."

Aside from the show's honorees, Academy Award-winners, composers and lyricists, Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, other VIPS in attendance included: Academy Award-winner, Shirley Jones; Fred Fate, Producing Director and Chair of Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy; Dr. Al Rossi, Professor of Theatre and Head of Acting at Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy; Allison Jones, Dean of Academic Affairs for Los Angeles City College; Bruce Kimmel, President of Los Angeles City College Theatre Alumni & Associates, Executive Producer and Director of the show; Joanna Erdos, Vice President of Los Angeles City College Theatre Alumni & Associates; Cason Murphy, Secretary of The Los Angeles City College Theatre Alumni & Associates and Producer of the show and James McCloskey, Former Chair of the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy.

Under the direction and executive produced by Bruce Kimmel (a Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy graduate), with Opening Remarks made by Cindy Williams (a Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy graduate), and produced by Cason Murphy (a Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy graduate), the show was choreographed by Adam Cates and musically directed by Richard Berent. Sponsored by The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles, the Glendale News-Press and the Burbank Leader, the All-Star Cast will included: Matthew Ashford, Christina Saffran Ashford, David Burnham, Patrick Cassidy, Kirsten Benton Chandler, Raymond del Barrio, Kevin Earley, Juliana Hansen, Kim Huber, Gregory Jbara, Chad Kimball, Beth Malone, Michelle Nicastro, Valarie Pettiford, Linda Purl, Alice Ripley, Julie Reiber, Emily Rozek, Rex Smith, Kevin Spirtas, Alet Taylor, Andy Taylor, Bruce Vilanch and Jennifer Leigh Warren.

 The show featured songs from musicals written by composers Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, including: Wicked, Godspell, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Pippin, The Magic Show, Rags, Newsies, Pocahontas, Little Shop of Horrors, Aladdin and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.  "A Happy Working Song" from the new upcoming Disney movie, Enchanted, with music written by Alan Menken and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz received its World Premiere performance, sung by Juliana Hansen.
