Photo Flash: First Look at ANNE OF GREEN GABLES at Chance Theater

By:

Chance Theater is pleased to remount its popular production of the heartwarming musical adaptation of the classic novel ... ANNE OF GREEN GABLES. Book by Joseph Robinette, music and lyrics by Evelyn D. Swensson, directed by Casey Long, associate direction by Travis K. Donnelly, and music direction by Bill Strongin. ANNE OF GREEN GABLES is currently in previews and opens tomorrow, December 4, continuing through December 27 on the Cripe Stage at Chance Theater at Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Generations of readers have adored ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, and now the musical adaptation of the beloved book hits the stage at Chance Theater. The Cuthberts expect to adopt a boy, but receive, instead, a red-haired, wide-eyed orphan girl. Though clever young Anne Shirley has a penchant for getting into trouble, she works her way into the hearts of her adoptive parents as well as the residents of rural Prince Edward Island. It's a heartwarming musical for the whole family.

This will be the fourth time that Chance Theater has produced ANNE OF GREEN GABLES as part of its Holiday Literature Series (which also includes Little Women - The Broadway Musical and The Secret Garden: The Musical), including a limited engagement at the Heritage Forum in Anaheim as part of the 100th Anniversary of the publishing of Lucy Maud Montgomery's first book in the Anne Shirley saga. Chance founding artist Casey Long has directed each production.

The production team for ANNE OF GREEN GABLES includes director Casey Long (who is also designing the sound and projections), associate director Travis K. Donnelly, music director Bill Strongin, scenic and lighting designer Masako Tobaru, and costume designer Erika C. Miller.

The cast for ANNE OF GREEN GABLES includes resident artists Sherry Domerego (Alice in Wonderland) and Nicole Schlitt, returning Chance artists Marina Coffee (ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, 2011), Corky Loupe (Loch Ness, a new musical), Xavier J. Watson (Hairspray), Rachel Oliveros Catalano (In The Heights), and Alicia Volinski (ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, 2011). Artists making their Chance debut in this production include Angela Griswold, Emma Nossal, Maddie Bourgeois, Brian Wiegel, Will Anderson, Abby Lutes, Brandon Kallen and James Gittelson.
