Award-winning actor Martin Thompson transforms once again into the legendary sleuth 'Sherlock Holmes' starring in the Los Angeles Premiere Engagement of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily.

Written by Katie Forgette and helmed by celebrated director Jules Aaron, the show opens on November 16th and runs through December 17th at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills.

No stranger to portraying the iconic Detective, Thompson is listed as an official 'Sherlock Holmes Actor' with the Diogenes Club U.K., the International Sherlock Holmes Society. He has become a respected figure among Sherlockian circles with eager fans bidding for his autograph online alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Basil Rathbone.

This time, Thompson is excited at the unique opportunity Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily brings with it, adding "Sherlock is so layered, his thought process so intricate, that there is always something new to discover about him. Plus, this play introduces quite a bit of humor into the story, too. And, since I love comedy, it will be fun to discover the funny side of Sherlock, as well."

Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily teams together the Great Detective, Sherlock Holmes (Thompson), his friend John H. Watson, M.D. and playwright Oscar Wilde in an attempt to thwart a foul misdeed. England's greatest actress and National Treasure, Lillie Langtry, is the target of blackmail in a sex scandal that threatens to bring down the British monarchy. The perpetrator of this extortion is the vilest fiend ever to walk the streets of London, Professor Moriarty. Can Sherlock lead the team in stopping the arch-villain when Scotland Yard cannot?

A former New Yorker now based in Los Angeles, Thompson has built a solid reputation on both coasts over the years. He has appeared in hundreds of stage productions in the Big Apple and regional theatres nationwide, including the world famous Barter Theatre, Theatre in the Square and the American Theatre of Actors. On the big screen, he has appeared alongside numerous celebrities, including Kevin Costner in The New Daughter, Paul Rudd in Wanderlust, Colin Firth in Main Street, and Dean Jones and Hayley Mills in the Mandie franchise. His credits also include the feature films Spies, Mr. Destiny, and Billy Bathgate; and on television shows NCIS: LA, Criminal Minds, Scorpion, Comedy Bang Bang, Uncle Buck and opposite Jane Seymour in Hallmark's Lake Effects.
