MAGGIE Solo Fly-Woman Comedy To Be Presented at Hollywood Fringe Festival
Writer-performer Mandy Keen brings her Tampa-developed clown comedy to The Stray Theater in Los Angeles.
Tampa-based performer and writer Mandy Keen brings an absurd, physical, and emotional solo show, MAGGIE, to the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival for a limited run at The Stray Theater.
Part clown show, part character comedy, and part strange love story, the show follows Maggie mid-transformation, after finding herself in a human body she doesn't understand. Grappling with dating, identity, and self-worth, she fumbles her way through womanhood. She is wrong about almost everything, but she is fully committed.
Blending physical comedy with direct audience interaction, the show unfolds differently each night, pulling the audience into Maggie's unstable and often ridiculous understanding of the world. As her transformation deepens, the chaos gives way to something more vulnerable: a desperate, unraveling attempt to belong.
Developed in Tampa's experimental comedy scene, MAGGIE premiered at The Commodore in Ybor City to a strong audience response and went on to play at the Safety Harbor Art and Music Center (SHAMc). Keen is part of a growing wave of performers pushing beyond stand-up into immersive, physically driven solo performance, with audiences calling the show:
Written, directed, and performed by Keen, MAGGIE is a messy, immersive solo show about transformation, delusion, and the strange hope that something better might exist beyond the trash.
