LOVE WILL TEAR US APART Makes Its World Premiere At The Hudson Guild Theatre 10/16

By:

False Idols Fall Productions will present the world premiere of Michael Hyman's LOVE WILL TEAR US APART at the Hudson Guild Theatre (6539 Santa Monica Blvd.) in Hollywood. Hyman also directs this play about love, loss, and one's immortality, as a young gay man wanders through the memories of his past loves. Performances run October 16 - November 22, 2009, with the official press opening on Saturday, October 17.

Playwright and director Michael Hyman founded the critically-acclaimed Planet Q, New York City's queer comedy troupe ("deliriously silly," New York Times) and directed their first production, Attack of The Giant Leeches, at the Angelika Film Center. He adapted and directed Life With Jeem for the 2000 New York International Fringe Festival. Off-Broadway, Michael directed and wrote Ice In A Hot World at the Bank Street Theatre and Happiness at Theatre 440. His one act play Jaye Sits was featured in the 2004 One-Act Festival at Playwrights Horizons. Mr. Hyman began in theatre at the age of 21, producing Captain Fabulous, a world premiere musical starring John Fleck at the Cast Theatre in Los Angeles. He holds a Masters Degree from the University of Southern California's School of Film and Television.

In LOVE WILL TEAR US APART, a young gay man, Nicky, is visited each night by the voice of a former lover. He is confronted with his past discretions, and his inability to get close with anyone. Nicky turns to drinking and drugs to try and drown out the voice, but the voice only persists.

The world premiere of LOVE WILL TEAR US APART is presented by False Idols Fall Productions.

Full casting and the creative team will be announced at a later date.
