Kritzerland at the Gardenia presents a Very Special Evening!A Broadway Love Story Wednesday, October 5, 2011 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm Starring Alet Taylor (Adelaide in Cabrillo's Guys & Dolls; Ovation-nominated this year for her performance in Having It All, NoHo Arts Center) with Jenna Rosen Music Director: John Boswell
And now for something completely different: For our October show, we step outside the box of our multi-performer evenings to present A Broadway Love Story, a tour-de-force one-woman show featuring the songs of several brilliant composer/lyricists and based on the best-selling Bruce Kimmel-produced CD of the same name. For that recording he collected some of the best Broadway songs ever written, pieced them together to form a love story - told completely in song. This evening stars Alet Taylor, one of Los Angeles' finest musical theater actresses - it's a performance you won't want to miss. The "score" to A Broadway Love Story was written by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, Irving Berlin, The Gershwins, Flaherty and Ahrens, Hamlisch and Zippel, Carol Hall, Strouse and Adams, Bock and Harnick, Newley and Bricusse, and a few others. Our musical director: the talented composer/arranger John Boswell.
