Described as an "icon of the downtown New York music scene and international queer avant-garde," MxJustin Vivian Bond returns to Los Angeles for three intimate performances at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArtsTheater Friday, February 17, 2012 to Sunday, February 19, 2012.

The ragingly multitalented Mx Justin Vivian Bond commands the REDCAT stage with a hilarious, heart-wrenching cabaret show with original music from the critically hailed debut recording Dendrophile, guileful covers of songs by Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, LCD Soundsystem, and others—and no small amount of biting political satire. Mx Justin Vivian Bond is accompanied by Lance Horne on piano and Nath Ann Carrera on guitar.

Nominated for a Tony Award as one-half of Kiki and Herb Alive On Broadway, the artist, aka V, has toured with the avant-garde performance troupe Big Art Group, and appeared in John Cameron Mitchell's sex romp feature film Shortbus. Recently, V presented the solo exhibition The Fall of the House of Whimsy at Participant Inc. in New York City. Bond is also the author of the 2011 memoir Tango: My ChildhoodBackwards and in High Heels published by The Feminist Press at the City University of New York. The publication has generated enthusiasitc critical reponse as well as dialogue around Bond's embrace of a self-authored gender-nuetral pronoun in numerous media outlets, such as The Economist and The New Yorker.
