Danny Gurwin will join Khori Dastoor for two performances of the California Philharmonic's BROADWAY'S BEST concert. On August 22, the Philharmonic will perform at The Arboretum in Arcadia. The company will then perform the concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall on August 23.

The evening will feature music from Mama Mia!, Wicked, The Merry Widow, Hairspray, Gypsy, Die Fledermaus and more.

Dastoor and Gurwin join Maestro Vener Cal Phil for your favorite songs from your favorite hit shows. It's a trip through blockbuster after blockbuster and a whole army of Tony awards as we survey music from throughout the history of the musical theatre. Ms. Dastoor took down the house last year with her rendition of Bernstein's Glitter And Be Gay from Candide-don't miss her performance this year. Mr. Gurwin is known for his Broadway roles in The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Full Monty, Little Woman and Kismet. No doubt about it, this will be an evening of stars-both on stage and above it!

When Cal Phil presents "Broadway's Best," audiences at The Arboretum and Walt Disney Concert Hall will not only hear excerpts from many of Broadway's most renowned musicals but will have an extraordinary opportunity to meet one of Broadway's most acclaimed performers, tenor Danny Gurwin.

As the Chicago Sun-Times wrote, "Gurwin gave a transcendent performance." But that's just one accolade among many more. TheatreMania.com hailed Danny - who has been performing on and off-Broadway for the last 11 years - for his "thrilling voice," Show Business Weekly praised his performance as "delightful," and United Press International called him, simply, "a star in the making."

Broadway musicals in which Danny has appeared include The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Full Monty, Little Women and Kismet. He also played a leading role in New York City Opera's A Little Night Music, which he later recreated at Los Angeles Opera, and appeared nationwide in productions mounted by such companies as the La Jolla Playhouse, the Geffen Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus, O'Neill Theatre Center and the Muny Theater among many others. In addition, he has appeared as a guest artist with Chicago's Grant Park Symphony and the New Haven Symphony.

If Danny's photo looks familiar, it may be because he is in demand on television as well as on stage. Shows on which he has recently appeared include "Law and Order" and "Desperate Housewives."

Danny, who holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan, is equally comfortable in the classroom. As a guest artist, he has taught at UCLA, Western Michigan University, Youngstown University, the Las Vegas High School of Performing Arts, the Showchoir Camps of America, and is currently on the faculty of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy right here in Los Angeles.
