The off-Broadway play, Fully Committed, will be presented by the Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse, with previews beginning May 29.  Starring Ted Escobar, the production is directed by Stephanie Coltrin.

Fully Committed is described as "a frenetic trip through a fictional, extremely fashionable, trendy Upper East Side eatery in New York," according to press notes. "Committed won the Outer Critics Circle Award and was listed in Time Magazine's Top Ten Plays of 2000.  Playing all 30 plus characters in the comedy, Escobar was chosen for the role of Sam the reservationist because of his diverse background as an actor. The audience immediately sympathizes and identifies with Mode's main character and they feel compelled to take the ride with him."

Escobar's theatrical background ranges from choreographing, directing and performing, with a career on stage spanning nearly 30 years.  He has also served as The Civic Light's General Manager for over 12 years, recently directing Dial 'M' for Murder and performing in Godspell.

Playing through June 10, tickets for Fully Committed, ranging from $35 to $50, can be purchased by calling 310-372-4477.  The Hermosa Beach Playhouse is located at the corner of Pier Ave. and Pacific Coast Highway.  For more information, visit www.hermosabeachplayhouse.com.
