Festive 'Santa Baby' Tour De Force Cynthia Basinet Attends Boo2Bullying Toy Drive

Actress, activist and sultry crooner Cynthia Basinet, best known for "Santa Baby" attends Boo2Bullying Toy Drive in Los Angeles. The event hosted by actress Cassandra Scerbo (ABC's "Make It Or Break It" and the Artists Project on an unseasonably warm night last Friday brought out the big hearted of young and old alike from the entertainment industry to benefit Los Angeles Fire Department's Toy Drive.

Southern California Firefighters celebrate giving over the past 25 years, Spark of Love has successfully collected more than 8 million toys. The campaign collects new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment for underserved children and teens in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Ventura and Riverside counties. The campaign runs through Christmas Eve, and our goal is to exceed last years' collection of 450,000 toys. To create an initiative between schools, parents and communities to help eliminate bullying by facilitating a dialogue involving the bullied and the bully within school systems, while supplementing a nation-wide campaign using online content around statistics pertaining to bullying and personal stories collected by the organization.

More on Cynthia: A longtime tour-de-force activist on the front lines of social issues aspired to have a "voice for the voiceless" since childhood including bullying. Her kinship for displaced societies culminated in a visit to the Western Sahara in 2001 in efforts to raise awareness for the Saharwian refugees living in peaceful self-determination.

She was subsequently nominated for a shared Nobel Peace Prize as part of the "1000 PeaceWomen Across the Globe".

The LA native entertainer is best known for her jazzy pop stylings on her CD "The Standard" hits like, "The Christmas Song", "It's Only A Paper Moon", "Going Out Of My Head" and sultry "Santa Baby" (recorded in 1997 for love Jack Nicholson, tribute to the original songstress, "Eartha Kitt" and later, often miscredited to Marilyn Monroe). Cynthia's iconic version can be heard in soundtracks and has been embraced by radio, fans and artists alike worldwide for decades.
