DEAD JOHN to Add Extra Performance After Selling Out Hollywood Fringe Run

Following a complete sellout of its original Hollywood Fringe Festival run, the creative team behind DEAD JOHN has added an additional performance on June 27 at 1 PM. The newly added show is already nearing capacity, continuing the momentum behind one of this year's fastest-selling Fringe productions.

LOS ANGELES, CA - What began as a five-performance run has quickly grown into a festival success story. DEAD JOHN, the original horror-comedy rock musical featuring an all-female cast, officially sold out all scheduled performances more than a week before opening. In response to audience demand, producers have added a sixth performance on Saturday, June 27 at 1 PM.

The musical follows Third Twin, an all-female rock band on the verge of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction when a freak onstage accident kills one of its members. As conspiracy theories spread and a sinister deal with devilish media mogul Bobby Beelz begins to unravel, the band spirals into backstage chaos and a rising body count - because the show must go on!

Inspired by everything from Stephen King and Final Destination to This Is Spinal Tap and classic '80s arena rock, DEAD JOHN combines theatrical spectacle, dark comedy, practical effects, horror, and live rock performance into a genre-bending original musical experience.

The production features 13 original songs performed by an all-female cast, along with four onstage death sequences, practical effects, and theatrical illusions. Its original rock score draws inspiration from bands including Journey, KISS, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, and Twisted Sister.

Music and lyrics are by NYU and Berklee-trained composer Tyler Rivera Stein. The book and direction are by Logan Horberg, with production by Television Academy member and actress Taissa Zveiter (The Lincoln Lawyer, The Morning Show, High Potential).

"We knew there was an audience for camp-horror musicals," said producer Taissa Zveiter. "We didn't expect to sell out the entire run before opening night. The response has been incredible."
